Kindergarten Boys Team Lacrosse
UPK / Kindergarten Program (Boys)
The UPK / Kindergarten Program is designed for boys currently enrolled in Universal Pre-K (UPK) or Kindergarten. This introductory program focuses on learning the fundamentals of lacrosse in a fun, supportive environment.
The program is instructional in nature and includes structured practices and a few friendly scrimmages to introduce basic skills, teamwork, and simple game concepts.
✔️ No experience is necessary — all new players are welcome!
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Two practices per week (weather permitting)
Emphasis on skill development, coordination, and fun
Friendly scrimmages scheduled on select Saturdays (schedule TBD)
No formal league games or standings
PRACTICE SCHEDULE
April Practices (Indoor / Hybrid)
Due to early spring weather, indoor space is reserved as a backup. Practices may be indoor, outdoor, or a combination depending on conditions.
Location: Rochester Sports Garden (when indoors)
Mondays | 5:30 – 6:30 PM
Dates: 4/6, 4/13, 4/20, 4/27
During April, indoor practices will be held one day per week if needed.
May Practices (Outdoor)
Dates: May 4 – May 31
Location: Henrietta area fields (TBD)
Mondays & Wednesdays | 6:00 – 7:00 PM
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
All players must have the following:
Required Player Equipment
Boys lacrosse stick
Mouth guard
Required Protective Gear
For player safety, all participants must wear:
Helmet
Shoulder pads / chest protector
Elbow pads
Gloves
These items can be purchased at local sporting goods stores such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Lacrosse Unlimited, or Play It Again Sports.
RENTAL GEAR (OPTIONAL)
Rental equipment is available for:
UPK / Kindergarten players
Players new to the sport
Rental options (available during registration):
Full gear set: $40
Helmet only: $25
Rental fees help ensure proper care and return of equipment at the end of the season.
UNIFORM
Uniform is optional for UPK / Kindergarten players
Players will receive a pinnie to borrow for use during the season
This program is a great way for young players to be introduced to lacrosse in a positive, low-pressure setting while building confidence, coordination, and a love for the game! 🥍
